Creative Athletes!

Last week in P.E. each team had to create a physical challenge for the other teams. We could use any equipment we wanted. Each team created a unique challenge and it encouraged us to work together and listen to our team mates. It was really enjoyable trying out all the other ideas.

Christmas in Scoil Mhuire

We hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas and we wish you all a very healthy and happy 2018.
We had lots of fun in school during the run up to the Christmas break. We sowed stockings, made gifts from clay and created our own wrapping paper. We sang at the Carol service and were very excited about Santa visiting. 
We're looking forward to more discovery and adventures in 2018.

Winter Trees

As a class, art is one of our favourite subjects. We love putting on our creative hats and experimenting with our pieces.
We created winter birch trees using masking tape, water colours, sugar and black crayon. We were delighted with how they turned out.

Science Week

This week we investigated the topic of solids, liquids and gases in science.
We learned about their properties and characteristics and located them in our environment.
We predicted and investigated what will happen when we mix certain solids, liquids and gases together.
Here are some of them in action.

 This group mixed corn flour, water and food colouring.  Look below at what they created!

                                   Slime!!

 Things got messy when we mixed carbon dioxide,liquid and sugar. We made a hole in the lid of the coke bottle. We put some mints into the bottle and placed the new lid on top. Can you guess what happened?

We really enjoyed science week and learned a lot!
